Frequently Asked Questions
In this section I provide answers to the most commonly asked questions about Psychotherapy. I hope you enjoy the information and share it with others. If you do not find what you are looking for, don't hesitate to get in touch.
What can I expect during my first appointment?
The first session will mainly consist of getting a thorough case history and identifying situations and life experiences that have brought you to seek therapy at this time. While part of my focus is to get to know you, at the same time, I am also looking for repetitive patterns and events that can be at the root of the issues that are causing you symptoms or discomfort.
Will I be able to be hypnotized?
This is one of the most commoon questions patients ask. In reality, you are in and out of the state of hypnosis every day. Hypnosis is a state of focus, much like the state you are in when you are absorbed in reading a book or thinking about a problem, to the exclusion of other thoughts or people around you. It is a natural state that you go through when you are in the process of going to sleep and of waking up. In other words, it is not anything new to you. We are not talking about hypnosis for theatrical purposes. That is used for
entertainment. Hypnosis is a wonderful state of mind and body that not only helps you to feel a sense of peace, harmony and control, but also helps to heal, re-energize and re-vitalize you. It is truly anti-aging.
Does my Health Insurance cover payment for my treatment?
If you have any questions about whether your health insurance covers the costs of your treatments, I would be happy to speak to you about it.
